PODS delivery

Our container arrives Wednesday, July 15

You are the point of contact while Munim is away. Everything you need for the day is right here.

When, and how you'll know

Arriving between 7:20 and 10:20 in the morning.

The driver will call you when they are on the way, so keep your phone on from about 7am and answer unknown Cleveland numbers. Your number is on the account and on the driver's notes:

(718) 650-1245

Where it goes

Direct the driver to the spot in the unloading area that Alex showed you, at 1999 Circle Drive, Unit 217. If there is any issue with it, one of the other bays nearby works. We have asked the office to keep the bike-rack area clear so there is room.

3 things to do when it arrives

  1. Photos first. Before anything is opened, take photos of the whole container and the seal or lock. This proves what condition it turned up in.
  2. Check for damage. As it is unloaded, photograph anything that looks damaged, the same day.
  3. Sign only a plain delivery receipt.Do not sign anything that says "released", "no damage", "good condition", or "waiver". If you are unsure, photograph it and send it to Munim before you sign.

The $234.45 charge, just so you know

PODS put a $234.45 "redelivery" charge on the card. We have already asked them in writing to remove it, this delay was their fault, not ours. Do not pay the driver anything extra, the delivery is already paid for.

If something is off

If the driver does not show, brings the wrong container, or asks you to pay anything, call Munim first.

After delivery

The bigger picture, and the money

Delivery day is only about receiving the container safely. Here is how it fits into the rest, so you have the full context. None of this is for you to action, it is just so you know where things stand.

What happened, and what we did

PODS lost track of our loaded container and pushed delivery from July 10 all the way to July 24, then labelled the change as if we had asked for it. We hadn't.

We ran a calm, fully documented push on several fronts at once: their online account, a Better Business Bureau complaint, a direct email to PODS's CEO and COO, and the assigned case manager, Lilian. It worked, and the delivery is now July 15.

The money we are owed

We go after this after the container is delivered, not before.

Why we wait until it is delivered

Two separate fights. First get the container safely home, PODS is holding everything we own, so we do not pick a money fight while they still have our things. Then, once it is delivered and photographed, we push hard on the money.

Where it stands right now

If PODS does not play fair

Held in reserve for after delivery, only if they refuse a fair resolution: a Better Business Bureau follow-up, an Ohio Attorney General complaint, and a card dispute on the fees.

Bottom line: the hard part is essentially won, the container is coming Wednesday, July 15. Delivery day is just about receiving it cleanly. The money is the slower second half, and that is on Munim to run.
